Our History
North West Clare Family Resource Centre Ltd (formerly called Ennistymon Family Resource Centre) was founded in 2000 in response to deficits in the training, childcare, employment and second chance education in the area. It was established with community development principles and practices and very much rooted in the community. North West Clare Family Resource Centre is a locally managed community organisation with a voluntary board. It is a limited company with charitable status. A key feature of North West Clare Family Resource Centre work is the involvement of local people in identifying needs and developing needs-led responses.
The NWCFRC operates two national programmes, both under the Department of Children and Youth Affairs:
·Family and Community Services Resource Centre Programme supported through the Child and Family Agency ( TUSLA)
·National Childcare Investment Programme managed by POBAL
